Join Engage Winona for a celebration of the work of creative community leaders! This public event will showcase the work of 4 artists who have completed a creative mini-project in the community this year.
Joy Davis Ripley: Healing & Resilience, interviews
Ms. Kathy: Do You See What I See - (cultural expression from teens of color in our community)
Kris Hipps: The Good Stuff, a short documentary film about kindness
Maurella Cunningham: Creative expression about ROAR
Doors open at 12 for mingling and light refreshments. The artists will share their process in a short program at 12:30, and will linger afterward to socialize. This event is free, and all ages are welcome.
The artists are all graduates of Engage Winona's Lived Experience Leaders program, which provides training and support to folks from diverse backgrounds who want to deepen their community practice. Artists participated in individual and group coaching sessions with community-engaged artist Sarah Johnson of The Joy Labs.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeast Minnesota Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
